Look at that unimaginative title. I'll blame it on my swollen ear.

Anyway, today I'm just going to plug the following post: No country for strangers by [personal profile] ephemere, which is about things you need to be willing to deal with and think about if you want to write about other cultures. It's very good to read.

Two things:

1. In real life, I have been working on the final paper for my bachelor's degree ever since last year, and after several exhausting months it seems to be finally on its way out of my life. My thoughts about this can be summed up as YES.

2. The paper also turned me into a fannish zombie for, like, months, so what better way is there to get past that than jumping on the bandwagon and participating in [community profile] three_weeks_for_dw! That means posting DW-only stuff during the next three weeks, which will include my long overdue fic commitments (such as my poor [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti fic and the flister requests). Also, responses to any prompts I get for the following meme:

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on alfalfa, favourite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other. Fannish topics welcomed. Affectionately taken from [personal profile] the_wanlorn.

Whether this will lead to me finally becoming an active person on LJ/DW/general blogosphere remains to be seen, but now I can say I've taken steps.
