Two of those end of the year memes. Fannish one first.
1. Your main fandom of the year?
FF7 writing-wise, Mad Men emotionally-invested wise, multifandom overall-wise.
2. Your favorite film watched this year?
Star Trek XI, followed closely by Inglourious Basterds and Mamma Mia (yeah, an older movie, but I didn't see it before this year). I was hoping to add The Princess and the Frog to the list (my soul was sold to Disney when I was born, okay), but looks like that will have to wait until next year.
3. Your favorite book read this year?
Käsky by Leena Lander, which is about Finnish Civil War and people affected by it. That entire time period has been an obsession for me all year, with somewhat sad effects.
4. Your favorite album or song to listen to this year?
The remastered Abbey Road by The Beatles, followed by The Fame and The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga and just about every Queen-album that ever existed, especially Innuendo and Night At The Opera. Also Like A Prayer by Madonna. And Mamma Mia-soundtrack. And anything by Michael Jackson. If I had to go with an individual song, I guess Death On Two Legs by Queen is the song of the year for me.
5. Your favorite TV show of the year?
Mad Men, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (also the main reason I haven't bothered with the movie; the TV universe is just so awesome), True Blood, The Good Wife, Leverage.
6. Your favorite LJ community of the year?
wrisomifu, which was fucking awesome in spite of my usual lurker habits.
7. Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Though I don't like it enough to call it my favorite show, I've been enjoying The Vampire Diaries a lot more than I expected.
8. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
The endless flood of fail that kept just COMING AND COMING AND COMING. Maybe I've just had my rose-tinted glasses on for too long, but it felt like hostility reached all time high this year in just about every corner of fandom. Talk about disillusionment.
As far as canon disappointments go, I was really unhappy with Dexter S4-finale and how they built up to the certain event.
9. Your TV boyfriend of the year?
Derek Reese from The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I never thought Brian Austin Green would impress me as deeply as it did, but there it happened! Runner-ups include Neal Caffrey from White Collar and Alec Hardison from Leverage.
10. Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Sarah Connor of her titular show. Also Alicia Florrick from The Good Wife, just about every woman in Mad Men (especially Betty Draper), Quinn from Glee (one of the few reasons I bother with the show) and Guinevere aka Gwen from Merlin.
11. Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Entirety of
halfamoon, Star Trek XI, Tekken 6. Of individual fannish moments there's the Don/Betty confrontation from The Gypsy and the Hobo in Mad Men, as well as Sarah Connor Chronicles-series finale.
12. The most missed of your old fandoms?
None really.
13. The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
Being Human.
14. Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
Final season of Lost, Iron Man II, starting my grand mission of not procrastinating writing-wise all the time.Maybe trying out a vid? Struck through since it's unlikely to happen, but it's nice to think about.
The second one is a little more personal, and a little more sad. Feel free to skip.
What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Joined a gym. Went to the LGBT Pride. Visited a nuclear reactor. Sang karaoke (awfully).
Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I can't even remember if I made any resolutions, but they probably were about doing things better this time, and I didn't exactly keep that one. This year there will be more, which will hopefully also be kept.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes. One such event made me a grandaunt.
Did anyone close to you die?
No.
What countries did you visit?
Sweden with my father.
What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
More happiness, more muscle tone, more things happening. Less heartache, less anger, less confusion, less bitterness. Improved personality.
What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Joining the gym since it took some massive overcoming of social anxieties and insecurities for me, and while I got lazy about it I was also able to make myself go back, and will be doing that. Never compromise yourself. Never let other people define your worth and identity. Making peace with yourself is the only way to good life, even if yourself is a horrible asshole.
