- The more I think about how Gordon's little girl was ignored, the more angry I get about it. They actually made it sure that we never saw much more than the top of her head. And now that I've seen a couple of people suspect that Gordon's son is actually being set up for Barbara's role in the movieverse, I'm even more pissed. NICE GOING NOLAN.

- Short slashy whine: The fandom seems to be exploding with Bruce/Harvey-slash right now, which sort of annoys me too since I was interested in that pairing before the movie came out and it was practically non-existent. I liked the movie take on Harvey, but he's not the Harvey I want to see paired with Bruce.

- On more positive notes, I did think that the dark atmosphere of the movie was spot-on, and I liked how obvious Batman's love for Gotham itself was. Only that's not 100 % what I'm trying to say, but I have trouble finding a deeper way to put it now.

- Overall, though, I think Iron Man was the better movie. So what if it was more about entertainment than deep messages?

And now that's done with, something to make up for my crankiness.

List 10 songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your summer. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 10 songs. Then tag 10 other people to see what they're listening to.

As usual, I won't tag, but grab this if you want to. My selection behind the cut.

Lazarus Man, by Terry Gillier
Hands Clean, by Alanis Morrisette (acoustic version)
Meds, by Placebo
Road, by Don Johnson Big Band
Hellfire, from The Hunchback of Notre Dame (I like Disney songs, shut up)
I Bring You A Song, from Bambi (Finnish version) (I still hear you laughing)
Umbrella, by Manic Street Preachers
The Devil Went Down To Georgia, by The Charlie Daniels Band
Levoton Tuhkimo, by Dingo
The Noose, by A Perfect Circle

Oh man. It's just SO hard to keep away from all those DK spoilers. :D And you're the third person I've come across who doesn't seem to like the movie all that much -- I hope it isn't too bad?

And what a coincidence, I've just watched the Hunchback! It's always amusing to have those villains singing their hearts out like that, I still can't get over Scar's "Be Prepared" in Lion King.

It's not too bad at all! I think it was a great movie all around, from my POV it just had flaws that I found really hard to ignore. But it also got me thinking a lot, so it's definitely worth watching.

As for Disney, villains always seem to end up with some of the best songs! "Be Prepared" was easily my favorite song from Lion King, although it took hearing the English version to really appreciate it (the Finnish version wasn't very good).
