Title: Stopping By
Fandom: X-Men
Pairing: Logan/Jean
Rating: PG
Words: 204
Summary: Jean stops by.
A/N: I believe your birthday is around this time,
kimouski, so here's a little something for you. Setting comes from these scans.
Disclaimer: X-Men aren't mine and the story isn't written for profit.
Jean does a brief check on Scott, first. She sees him and Emma in Savage Land, playing out romantic scenes from Attack of The Clones. ("Nonsense," Emma would scoff.) She listens to them small-talk and banter before they kiss. Scott's easy smile makes her ache just a little, but what's been done has been done. Jean pushes the ache away and remembers it no more.
After that, she follows the trail of Logan (blaring emotion, immortalized in wreck he has left behind) to Germany, to hotel rooms and bars before she finds him in a train, dozing on the bench with Piotr and Kurt. On the surface, he's serene, his dreams light and playful as he escapes one prank after another, chased by eager Kurt. Their joking war seems to carry on all the way to the dreams. Logan's dreams have been, and could be, haunted by worse things.
It's not unreasonable to assume Jean might be one of those worse things. She can only hope that's not the case when she approaches him, molding a ghostly hand to his cheek.
"Logan."
When Logan wakes up in the morning, he smells salt dried on skin, and is surprised to find it lining his eyes.
