So, what if I wanted to convert somebody to femslash? I would use these two vids.

Xena, Xena/Gabrielle. I've never seen Xena myself, but this vid does a terrific job of showing why Xena/Gabrielle is the most famous femslash pairing in the fandom. The vid is just really elegant and beautiful to watch.

Smallville, Chloe/Lana. Although both Chloe and Lana tend to have more screentime with male characters than with each other, I've always liked this pairing for some reason, so I was happy to run into this vid. The thing I like the best about this vid that it's so convincing: of course Chloe and Lana spend their time ogling at each other! It's really fun to watch.

And now, something different: Few links back in time, to my first experiences with fanfic.

- Brendon J. Wahlberg was a well-known author in pre-TMP Star Wars-fandom, and it was his fics that I ran into first. His most well-known story was the Dark Emperor-series, which was about Palpatine, which lead to my own interest in the character. His stories are severely outdated now, but he wasn't a bad author to start fanfic with.

- After exploring the fandom more, I soon found my way to fanfix.com, which was a general archive for Star Wars-fic, and the site that everybody in the fandom was aware of. Through fanfix.com I also became aware of sites like Corellian Embassy (Han-archive, but with non-Han fic as well) and Organa-zation (Leia-archive), both of which are still around, and began to fan certain authors. Valerie Vancollie was one author whose works I always checked out, and she was probably the start for my fondness for darkfic and AUs (she specialized in fic where Luke turns to the dark side).

- I drifted away from SW-fandom for a while soon after The Phantom Menace came out, but before that, I read a lot of fic in that fandom as well, which led me to discovering slash for the first time. Always Two was a Sidious/Maul-story, after which I soon discovered the author Siubhan and Sith Academy-series. Maul/Obi-Wan wasn't a pairing that I really bought, but it was the first slash pairing I was interested in reading.

If there's a pun to be made, why not make it?

I think I'm always going to have a soft spot for Sidious/Maul. The Star Wars Wiki even stated that Sidious was the only person Maul ever gave a damn about, so it works!
