So in Iowa, United States, there is a law in works that is straight from my dreams: The kind that protects students from harassment and bullying. Nice, right? Except that some Republicans want to exclude the LGBT youth from being protected by said law. Because children must be protected from harm except when they're queer. Not happy about this.
(Aside from the extremely obvious message, this also sends another one: You deserve to be treated well only if you meet certain conditions. It's not that bullying is naturally wrong or anything.)
