Ha, this icon is on-topic for once. Spoilers for the latest episode.

I wish I had some insightful things to say about this show, but I'll leave it to smarter people.

- After several episodes of "look how awful Betty is" undertones I was very happy to get a reminder from the show itself how much an irresponsible bastard Don really is. This is, after all, a guy who stole another man's life, drove his own brother to suicide, has no issues with walking out on his family when things get too tough and can't see past his navel most of the time, so yeah, it was satisfying to see his unreliability finally catch up with him.

- Betty has been the character whose storyline and development I've been most invested it ever since the beginning of the show, but aside from My Old Kentucky Home and The Fog I felt like her storyline had been pushed to the sidelines, so I was glad to get a reassurance of the opposite. I loved how she didn't back down Don and how she ruined Don's vision of their living room with her couch, and I'm curious about how things will develop between her and Henry Francis.

- In short: I may appreciate Don as a character, but I'll always be on Betty's side. The end.

- I liked the Pete/Peggy-scene a lot, though Pete was still Pete. The Duck/Peggy-scene? NO DUCK NO

- To clarify: I like Duck as a character. I was interested in his storyline and was disappointed to see him go, then happy to see him come back. I don't think he's bad-looking either. Duck/Peggy nevertheless makes me wave my arms with massive squick.

- I've always liked Cooper, but he has spent more time as a full-time eccentric rather than as a full-time eccentric with a brain lately, so I was thrilled to see him pull the Dick Whitman-card on Don. Well played, old man. I'm sure it will backfire on him eventually, but like Don's smack-down I will enjoy it for now.

- So at the moment Joan got trapped by her husband, Don got trapped by his job, Pete and Peggy are stuck in their current jobs but have another option in Duck (towards which Peggy is moving while Pete isn't, but there's a risk involved with that movement), Betty got trapped by Baby Gene but seems to be exploring her options again. Just keeping track of the themes here.

The promo implies that Pete will be the non-Don character of the next episode, which should be fun.
