Comm or Not, Here Are Thoughts

So, kimouski and I have been hosting a fic thread. We've thinking of turning it into a community.

The purpose of this thread is to post an "ad" about what fandoms, pairing references etc. you're willing to write so people can request stories from you. I ended up with a good handful of prompts myself, so although the thread itself is on the small side it's proved very fruitful to be in.

So we were thinking: why not make it something bigger? LIKE A COMM. kimouski's still on the fence about it, but I'm hoping we do it. While the idea of running one makes me a little queasy (I would have to talk to other human beings! THE HORROR), I think this is something that could be really fun if it gets big. So here's to hoping it will happen!

Kim's running a poll, which will help us decide if it's worth the time, so.. *wink wink* Also, does anyone know if there's a comm like this already? I'm not into stepping on other people's toes.

Damn, LJ failed to notify me about this! If you mean if original work is allowed (if I'm misinterpreting, let's blame it on me being Finnish), kimouski is a better person to answer that, but I think it would be okay. Not everything fits under fandom labels after all.

no, no, I didn't mean original. I was wondering if it would be an all-fandom dealie like comment_fic is, or would it be directed more to a specific corner of fandom? (ie. movies vs television vs games vs comics.) It's a stupid question, never mind me.

It wasn't a stupid question, my brain just doesn't co-operate with me at times. (Or is that often? :P) But yes, something like comment_fic is exactly what we're talking about.
