Dear House/Wilson-fandom,
Congrats, the evil vagina is out of the way. Hooray for justice!
- me
Disclaimer: I know not all of House/Wilson-fandom is like that. I still love the pairing. But I also know there are tons of people going "Good riddance!" out there and thinking of that is just too depressing. I'm just so tired of this crap. Sorry if I offended anybody.
ETA: Okay, got over my initial reaction. A little.
I like Wilson as a character, but he doesn't get the worshipful squee reaction from me that he does from most other fans, but this episode was all about him to me. I loved that he loved Amber so much, and Robert Sean Leonard was fantastic thorough the entire episode. When Wilson lost his nerve with others, when he got it back, his confession of love, when he curled up in Amber's bed.. just amazing. Huge props to Anne Dudek too, showing both the tough and the sensitive side of Amber. She and Amber were honestly one of the most enjoyable things about this season for me, but I didn't expect to get as attached to her as I did, or to Wilson/Amber. But I did, and got crushed, and I'm going to hate the show forever for not allowing Amber to leave alive. I knew that her and Wilson weren't going to last past this season, but if the only possible way they can let a female character go is to kill her, something is wrong. I'm going to miss her.
However, although it angers me that Amber and Wilson/Amber were brought in just to boost the House/Wilson-angst, I have to admit that House/Wilson-angst was very well done and believable, and I like how obvious it is that Wilson is the most important person in House's life. Seeing Wilson walk away from House in the end of the episode was heartbreaking, but they're going to get over that, and we should have a good House/Wilson-plot next year. I did have trouble feeling much for House as an individual (like they're going to kill him off), but I thought the scene with him and Amber in the bus was wonderful.
I don't have much thoughts about the rest, except that Cuddy's scenes were all great and I hope she will get a bigger role in the future, but as for season in general, I thought it was a very entertaining one. I loved Thirteen/Taub/Kutner-team, and I hope all the three of them stick around, but unless they find Cameron and Chase something concrete to do, I think both of them would be better off elsewhere, as much as I like them both. The season ended on very depressing note, but maybe we'll get the triumph back during the next one.
