bofoddityFor some reason, I really feel like wasting my time. First, late answers for latest Fannish Five because sometimes, I like fandom.
What were your five favorite things about your fandom(s) in 2007?
1. After years of dislike and occasional liking, Smallville finally sold the character of Lana to me in the latter half of S6 and I've loved her ever since. Even greater was that I wasn't the only fan to feel this way, which led to birth of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
lana_is_ok.
2. Despite a lot of frustration with both fandom and the show, I did fall for Heroes and hard. The Petrelli-family is just awesome, and I'm endlessly fascinated with Nathan/Peter-dynamic, to the point I'm not sure how much I will love the show anymore if it's eliminated. I also can't help but love a fandom where a character like Matt Parkman gets such fannish attentions and into an OTP with very pretty Mohinder Suresh. There are just too many fandoms I can think of where that would never have happened.
3. Supernatural-fandom may hate women and hard, so it never fails to make me happy to see that hatred being mocked and hard. It's always good to know that there are sane people around.
4. As a fannish consumer, this was the year when I got interested in vids to the point I consume more vids than fanfic nowadays (as you can tell from the reasonably active vid recs tag). I also think this was the year for some of the most fantastic vids ever seen in fandom: Women's Work, Martina, Jack and Filthy Mind just for few examples.
5. Related to my Heroes-fannishness, I also discovered Adrian Pasdar as an actor. Which lead me to discovering Profit. More about that in the future.

1. Why do you dislike #11 so much? (Angel/Cordelia)
The canon execution was beyond horrible, and I still haven't forgiven the show for what it did to Cordelia. I can count the times I actually liked the idea of them together with one hand, and it amazes me every time a fic manages to sell this pairing to me.
2. Who do you know that ships #13? (Matt/Mohinder)
Not directly, but I'm starting to have hard time finding people who don't like this pairing.
3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3? (Wesley/Lilah)
Anything that shows Lilah was the one Wesley really loved and not Fred. I'm easily pleased.
4. What is your favorite moment for #1? (Barret/Tifa)
The conversation on Highwind after Cloud's disappearance, and these lines:
"What? Does Cloud always gotta be around?
We did fine without him in the beginning...
Right? And what happened to the tough girl I used to know? Where did she go to?"
Alternatively, the short talk between them after the Lifestream-sequence.
5. How long have you been following couple #6? (Nathan/Peter)
From the first episode on, which I saw this autumn. I was a late-comer to fandom, but caught up fast.
6. What's the story with #8? What made you stop caring? (Spike/Buffy)
Seeing Red. A relationship is pretty much dead when it leads to attempted rape. I think I might not hate the pairing as much as I do now if S7 had been overall better, but since it turned out the way it did, Spike/Buffy just left a really sour taste in my mouth.
7. Which ship do you prefer--#2 or #4? (Steiner/Beatrix & House/Wilson)
House/Wilson, but only because the latter is fresher in my mind.
8. You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12. (Sam/Dean & Sephiroth/Zack/Cloud)
As much as I hate Wincest, there's enough non-Wincest in Supernatural-fandom that I can live with its existence. No such luck with S/Z/C.
9. What interests you about #14? (Nathan/Niki)
There seemed to be some sort of connection between them in Collision, which I wouldn't have minded seeing explored, and the chemistry between Pasdar and Larter was always wonderful. There's potential for them.
10. When did you stop liking #7? (Logan/Veronica)
Fandom's insane hatred of Veronica and the way Logan became completely boring and uninteresting as a character. Also, as enjoyable as their chemistry was in S1, I never saw them as a long-term couple.
11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the series? (Lex/Lana)
No. I stuck with the show through seasons 3 and 4, so it takes a lot to kill my interest in something.
12. What's a song that reminds you of #5? (Buffy/Faith)
Liz Phair's Flower. The lyrics are directed to a man, but oh, they could be so easily from Faith to Buffy.
13. Which of these ships do you love the most right now?
Nathan/Peter. What can I say? I'm a gen shipper all the way.
14. Which do you dislike the most?
Angel/Cordelia because I had to tolerate it in canon. In fic, S/Z/C because it's so goddamn dominant and Angel/Cordelia has been sometimes done well in fic, and I simply don't look at any Sam/Dean.
15. If you could have any of these pairings double date, who would they be?
Barret/Tifa and House/Wilson, mostly because Barret vs. House would be hilarious.
16. Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if yes.
There's no canon kissage as far as I can remember, but who knows what happened between the scenes?
17. Did #4 have a happy ending? Do you think one is likely? (House/Wilson)
I doubt H/W is ever going to happen in the show, but although I can't see them ever having a cutesy relationship, I think they could have a good life together.
18. What would make you start shipping #14? (Nathan/Niki)
Good storylines for the characters and some good interaction between them. It helps a lot if they both survive to the next season.
19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer--#2 or #6? (Steiner/Beatrix & Nathan/Peter)
Well, the former was canon in the end of the game and the latter is canon in gen sense, so neither?
20. You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them? (Sam/Dean)
They never have sex. The end.
