Heroes: Truth & Consequences

Unlike I hoped, this episode didn't end up owning the previous episode's ass, but it was bearable.
- After weeks of not giving a damn, I finally got my Hiro-love back when he uncovered the truth about Adam and set out to do something about him. The lack of screentime for Hiro/Ando still makes me suspicious, but this episode was a big step towards better, and now I worry about what's going to become of him in the next episode.
- Despite the stunningly stupid scene where she tries to invite the Haitian over to forget her dad, I felt for Claire again when she faced Elle and was determined to take action instead of running away again. That's the girl who I liked a lot in the first season. Sandra pointing the gun at Bob was also awesome, and even West was likable.
- Still sympathizing with Mohinder, and I'm glad that he was the one to bring Bennet back to life. He's a little too trusting of the Company that I prefer, but I like that he isn't even nearly as blinded by them as Bennet claims he is. And he isn't wrong about Bennet, either: he could have chosen a different approach.
- The scene between Bob and Elle in the car was great, as was the Claire/Elle-confrontation. Elle struck me really vulnerable during that screen, and I found myself having the same "want to hug her through screen"-reaction to her as I did to Veronica. Damn that KB. I like that she's starting to have doubts about what she and her father do.
- Victoria Pratt had so much potential to be interesting. (Why was Angela so protective of her? Although Victoria didn't seem to be so taken with either her or Papa Petrelli? ) I wish I could say that seeing that potential go to waste was an unbelievable sight, but it really wasn't.
- I'm pretty sure that Niki is going to die in the next episode, and I'm pretty sure that she's going to die as a victim. I hope that I will be proved wrong. Also, Monica'd better not get either raped or killed.
- So, Sylar was actually willing to let Alejandro go. Which he could have done, too, maybe with a threat to Sylar that he would come back. Or then he would have pretended to leave and follow Sylar and Maya in secret. Alejandro dying was the most obvious choice, but it wasn't the only one. So I'm disappointed that he was killed off anyway. Still, I'm glad that Maya proved to be able to control her power, even though she's way too naive when it comes to Sylar, and I hope she will get better writing in the future.
- The most amusing thing about the Sylar/Mohinder-reunion was the way Mohinder was completely unsurprised by Sylar being alive. Much less amusing was the sight of Sylar stroking sleeping Molly's hair. Easily the creepiest scene in the season so far. I have looked forward to the confrontation between Sylar and Mohinder, but the idea that Molly is going to have yet another trauma really squicks me out. Her dads aren't really doing a good job of keeping her safe.
- A question to Mohinder-haters: Do you really think that he's being more stupid than Peter? Seriously? That him trying to avoid the bloodshed with Bennet and bringing him back to life is worse than Peter ignoring the suggestion that Adam is dangerous TWICE, even though HIRO is the one to give him the next warning? Hiro he knows to be a good guy, with his memory being back and all? That Mohinder is more stupid than Peter although he uncovered the truth about Sylar all on his own in the last season and Sylar was better actor than Adam? Seriously? SERIOUSLY?
- In other news, since Adam has lost the last ounce of potential depth he had, my interest in him has gone down to zero. Asshole. He and Peter deserve each other.
Despite my complaints, I still look forward to the next week's episode because after that Heroes can finally move onto improving itself.
And now some ponderings about the finale (based on this preview)..
- Of Elle, Matt, Claire, Hiro and Nathan, two will apparently fall. That fall better not mean death. And if it does, NATHAN BETTER NOT BE ONE OF THOSE TWO. Because while I am interested in the M3 and Elle and still have hope for others, Nathan is the character of choice to me in this show and I don't think I'll be motivated enough to continue watching if he dies.
- Looks like Sylar will get his powers back. I hope that doesn't mean Maya's death because I think they could do things with her.
- I really hope Peter realizes that there's something off with Adam before it's too late. He needs some redemption and FAST. (Also, in that flash of future, is that an old thing or is he holding poor Hiro's sword? That doesn't bode well for the redemption.)
- Niki is so dead. But the question is, will she come back from it?
- Just what kind of deal has Bennet made? What kind of deal could he make? Will it negate the good moment she had in this episode? (I guess if she's one of those who "fall", she could die and return anyway. Be one of those two, Claire!)
- Why do people hate Adrian Pasdar's crazy hair? IT'S AWESOME. I hope it's never slicked to death again.
And the link of the week for non-Heroes fans: What fics are so impressive that you would rec them to non-fandomers to show the quality of fanfiction? I have few candidates, but some of them need to be tracked down.
