Ficlet Request Time and other stuff
It's Valentine's Day, and that means two things. First,
halfamoon will wrap up today, and just like last year, it's been a truckload of love. I didn't have much time to dig up recs or write some fic, but I did plug some of my own fics and started the The Unpopular Woman Love Post where you love your favorite hated female. My only regret about it is that I asked people to state reasons for why their characters of choice are so unlucky, which took some of the feel-good away from the feel-good. Better luck next time?
Second, I'm trying to make up for my lazy last year by writing more this year. That means ficlet requests!
So give me a prompt and a pairing (threesomes and moresomes go too, though they'll probably be more on the gen side), and I'll write you a drabble/ficlet in return. The fandoms I'm most familiar with are Final Fantasy VI-IX, Star Wars, House PD, Smallville, Silent Hill, Nolan's Batman-films, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel, Lost and Rome, but if the fandom is something you know me to be familiar with, go ahead and request. Het, slash and femslash all a go.

Ok, because I am a kinky bitch--and you know this...
Request one: Zack x Tifa x Sephiroth 3-some. AU or Nibleheim (although Tifa is a mite young there...)
Request two: Happy Cloud.
Request three: Prompt: "They all assumed she looked away when Aerith touched Cloud because of him. But they never considered that maybe she longed for petal soft touches of her own." (Don't have to use the quote, but I'd like a Tifa x Aerith implied ficlet, please, ma'am.)
That's all for now.
The Friendly Touch
It always amazed her how easy it was for Aerith to touch others. Whether it was patting Nanaki's nose, smacking Barret on the shoulder (for which she always had to rise on her toes, which amused everybody) or grabbing Cloud from the elbow, it was as natural for her as breathing. The touch wasn't always returned, but it was never rejected. Sometimes it hurt to see Cloud smile at it.
Most of the time it was another thing that hurt her. Touch was like an instinct for Aerith, but she almost never touched Tifa.
Tifa didn't understand why. Aside from Cloud, it was her company that Aerith sought out whenever they had time to be like ordinary people. They laughed at the same things. They dreamed of a future with green land and without Shin-Ra. Sometimes Aerith touched her hand, but it never lasted long.
After some time, it stopped hurting her and instead just confused her, and she decided that the most likely reason was that Aerith found her intimidating. So she asked Aerith about it.
"There's nothing wrong with you!" Aerith insisted. "I'm.. I'm just afraid I'll make you uncomfortable."
Aerith avoided her eyes, which confused her further. Then she did something about it.
"Don't be silly." She extended her arms out, and felt weird for a moment. The person she hugged the most was Barret, and she wondered how Aerith would feel like in comparison. She shrugged the feeling off and smiled. "Come on. Let's try it."
To her surprise, Aerith didn't try to excuse herself, despite the tension in her shoulders. Instead she walked up to Tifa and wrapped her arms around her, settling against her as Tifa closed her in an embrace. After a while, she discovered some things.
Aerith was tiny compared to Barret. Her body was stronger than you could tell by looking at her. It tickled when she pressed her nose into Tifa's hair.
"I didn't mean," Aerith started, pulling away. She was blushing, and as soon as Tifa understood why, her cheeks followed the lead.

Match Making
When he introduced Tifa to Sephiroth, he didn't think much of it. She wanted to meet her idol once, and one meeting was all he knew Sephiroth would agree to, so Zack arranged it and then put it out of his mind. Afterward Tifa was thoughtful, but smiled and said yes when he asked her if everything was okay. So he hadn't thought of it anymore.
Zack didn't start thinking when Tifa cropped her hair so short it was barely there, despite the way she had preferred to keep her hair as long as it was acceptable. He got worried when she started to get thinner, losing the shapes that had made her a target for a lot of unwanted attention, but when she stopped and still looked healthy, he forgot about it again. Being a SOLDIER meant you had no time to think of your looks, after all. And she still smiled. That had to mean she was all right.
So when he finally walks in on her and Sephiroth, it nearly knocks him out.
Wearing a tux with her breasts strapped away, Tifa almost looks like a boy ("He likes it when I cross-dress," she will tell him). With her pants pulled down, Zack can tell he's not. Sephiroth smiles to him over her shoulder.
"I'm so glad you introduced us."
Later, he will wonder what made him obey when Sephiroth told him to come closer.
Practice Makes A Man
For years, he had assumed it was something he simply didn't have the skill for. (Zack, of course, had known how, but as carefully as Cloud had crafted his delusion, some things were beyond imitation.) The few times he managed one were moments of amazement, and that irritated him. Cloud may not have been normal, but surely whistling was something he could handle.
So Cloud started practicing. First, he was pathetic. Later, the wheeze began to turn into a sound.
He couldn't whistle entire songs yet, but he did manage short tunes, and managed them often. He thought his development was invisible, first, but then Tifa confirmed the opposite.
"I liked you better when you brooded."
Tifa turned to search her migraine pills, and Cloud couldn't stop grinning. There was nothing like success.
Re: Practice Makes A Man
Uhm... Prompt #4 Barret didn't think of her as a daughter.
:D
The Next Level
They grew older, and sometimes Tifa seemed to leave him behind. Barret decided that the increasing aches in his body were first steps to graying, so he was still farther in the lead. Meanwhile Tifa was living the best years of her life, heavy with memories, but not sour. The worst thing that could happen to her was to get stuck with a grumpy bastard like Barret.
(With him or Cloud, that was. Barret may have liked the guy, but Cloud just wasn't well.)
They grew older still, and Barret suddenly found himself without an excuse. Meteor had come up and down and he was still alive, his conscience lighter, and happiness had become a concrete chance. So when he got the courage to ask Tifa out, there was one more thing to lean on. Barret had never thought of Tifa as his daughter, but that didn't mean she hadn't seen him as a father. Or as a creep next door.
Then she said yes.

Tease and Court
It's in a bowl and it's made of chocolate, and it looks like it will squish at the stab of a spoon. Joker licks his lips, and that's enough to drive the nurses out of their minds.
"There's a file inside it!" he hears from his cell after they scatter off, and laughs to himself. He does have fondness for blunt instruments.
A week later he gets to meet his doctor again, and her eyes are shiny with anticipation as he's brought in and seated before her. He likes how her bun is pulled tighter every time he sees her.
"I hate chocolate," Joker says. "But I loved the gesture."
The doctor has practiced dealing with disappointment, he can tell, but it still takes long for his compliment to break through and sink. Her cool smile is much better, and she can almost hide the delight from her eyes.
"It's a pity they don't trust you with anything that has sugar." She adjusts the notepad in her lap, twirls her pen. "You have come far enough to deserve a reward."
She is on the right track with that, he has to admit. He grinned. "Maybe the next time," he drawls, dragging the tip of his tongue over his mouth, "they won't even look for a key."
Between blinks, he sees uncertainty. The doctor touches her hair before replying: "Maybe the next time, you get to eat it."
"Of course." He bows his head. "Forgive my sense of humor."
He doesn't look up. He doesn't listen to her breath. He takes a moment to miss his suit and shoes, and lifts his head to see she's no longer hiding how drunk she is with him.
She believes they're connected, and she isn't wrong. He never expected she would be this much fun.
"Forgiven." She squares her shoulders, touches her hair again. "Now, let's talk more about your daughter."
She leans back in her chair, and he shifts into a more comfortable position in his. Her legs are jittery and restless as she crosses her ankles. He finds that cute.

OH YOU KNOW IT!
"What are you planning to do with that, James?"
Vanity Break
The camp was back and Charlotte was buried. As they waited for Faraday to pull himself together, Sawyer juggled a bottle of sun lotion in his hands.
"What are you planning to do with that, James?"
Juliet's voice was always the same, but when Sawyer faced her he saw exhaustion all over her. It made her smile dim.
"Love my back a little." He tossed the bottle to her, smirking at her surprised blink. "Wanna make yourself useful?"
She watched him, then past him. "Don't you think Jin might need this more?"
Sawyer followed the line between Juliet's eyes and Jin, who was walking in the water line, scratching at the side of his jaw. It had to blow to skip from near drowning to hosting a sunburn.
"Maybe you're right." He flopped down to the sand, stretching his legs out. He tugged at the buttons of his shirt. "Make it fast, Capulet."
He couldn't see her, but he knew she was amused. Sawyer was a funny guy.
It wasn't cool yet, but the air was starting to feel good instead of sticky, for which his back was grateful. He heard Juliet settle down on her knees behind him, the bottle uncork.
"Do you think Locke will be all right?"
Sawyer curved out his back as he felt Juliet's hand on him, rubbing his skin in search of tender patches.
"He has a way of making things go his way," he mumbled, swaying lightly to her touch. He had to swallow a wince as Juliet came upon sore muscle. Unreasonably long swimming trips had their effects. "He'll be back in no time. Now, whether anybody comes back with him, that's a different story."
Now she chuckled. "You wouldn't?" Juliet asked, taking a moment to pour lotion into her palms. Her touch was slick and cool on his skin as she began to spread it, kneading him in slow, careful circles.
"Not a Dumbo." She had nice hands, that Juliet. Steady and not at all afraid to feel him. "It was a life time opportunity, Doc. They'd better not waste it."
"They shouldn't, no." Juliet smoothed out a thicker smudge of lotion to the rest of his skin. "I hope not."
Her tone was even. If he looked at her now, it would be like looking at a lake. Like she wasn't angry. It pissed him off so much.
"And it's our turn anyway," he said aloud, rolling his shoulders. Juliet had to move back to avoid his elbows, and he could have sworn he saw a slight frown when he turned to her. He grinned and extended his hand. "Gimme that."
His fingertips touched the underside of her wrist as she handed over the bottle. It wasn't much, but it made him feel warm. Juliet lifted an eyebrow when Sawyer squeezed a few drops of lotion on his thumb.
"Yes, I'm sure Jin will appreciate your willingness to apply it," she told him, and Sawyer smiled.
"Maybe." He pointed the thumb to her. "But I like your face better."
With that, Sawyer stroked the tips of each cheek and the slide of her nose, and wiped the rest on himself. As he stood up, Juliet was baffled, and about to smile.
Re: Vanity Break
I know Darlton would never let these two get this intimate so quickly (Jate/Skate angst, full speed ahead!), but IF THEY DID, I imagine it would happen very much like this scene. It was a little snarky, a little tentative, and surprisingly warm considering the circumstances preceding it.
One question: Is that Dharma Initiative lotion? And what was Sawyer doing with it this whole time? All I can see is Sawyer paddling for his life in that canoe with a bottle of suntan lotion sticking out of his back pocket. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Re: Vanity Break
I thought the lotion might be something that an Island Lostie might have left behind, but I like your version much better. Besides, with the island's moralizers gone he has no reasons not to hoard stuff again.
