Yeah, I've noticed the best way to stay sane in FF fandom is to stick to the sidelines or stay away entirely. I don't remember ever seeing wank like this in pre-LJ fandom either, which I think was because fannish circles were much smaller. LJ is huge and accessible to all, so morons have easier time getting their crap heard.
